Pupil Awards

The awards commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Grammar School Foundation, as well as recognise the achievements of pupils from the Coleshill Cluster of schools.

The award ceremony was held at Packington Hall on Wednesday 8th July, with Jazz musical accompaniment by Alicia Gardener-Trejo, an ex-Coleshill School pupil, who had also received support from the foundation during the past year of her musical vocation.

Lord Aylesford, Chairman of the Grammar School Foundation presented the awards, certificates and gift tokens to all
nominated pupils and schools.

It was also a poignant occasion for the Trustees too – not only marking the 50th anniversary year of the charity but the retirement of a founding Trustee, Mr Bruce Gascoine, who had served on the Board for 50 years!

The following pupils were nominated as ‘deserving’ recognition for their efforts at school:

  • Harry Pitt, St Edwards Catholic School – outstanding contribution to the school, also shows immense promise in the future

  • Jayne George, The Coleshill School – in recognition of consistent hard work, and always giving her best

  • James Roberts, Woodlands School – is a charming and confident young man, with a fantastic sense of humour. The staff at Woodlands are very proud of James’ achievements

  • Joe Bryan, Curdworth School – he has shown excellent athletic ability, being chosen for the Area Cross-Country and Indoor Athletic teams, as well as representing the school in a range of different sports

  • Matthew Joyce, Coleshill C.E. Primary School – Matthew has shown considerable determination to improve in all areas of school life. He has put in extra effort and takes part with confidence in all aspects of school life

  • Rebecca Rose, Shustoke C.E. Primary School – Rebecca is a prime example of what can be achieved through perseverance and determination. She has a positive attitude to learning and continually gives her best – never giving up!
