50 years supporting young people's education
July was a significant time for the Trustees of the Grammar School Endowment Foundation, as they celebrated 50 years of supporting the education of local young people.
Every year a number of grants are awarded to both schools and individuals to assist and enhance the education of young people in the area. 2008 was no exception, with over £55,000 of grants awarded thought the year.

In addition awards were also made to other local organisations; for example in supporting the 800th year of the Coleshill Market Charter celebrations.

An increasing number of grants were also awarded to individuals for university books and equipment, supporting vocational aspirations, nurturing young/gifted individuals, and through school uniform grants.

The Earl of Aylesford, Chairman of the Grammar School Foundation presented a plaque to each of the schools in the Coleshill Cluster to commemorate 50 years of the Foundation. Lord Aylesford said “Also a special thank you to you, Mr Bruce Gascoine who has served as a trustee of the foundation for the last fifty years. His retirement from the foundation this year is poignant, but demonstrates the commitment and enthusiasm shown by all trustees in striving for the best possible education for local young people.”
